Our Centre offers Compulsory and Optional English preparatory classes. The preparatory program, implemented in the presence of experienced professors, not only gives the students a good base, but also creates the infrastructure for the advanced courses opened in the center. The student will have good English skills when he/she graduates.

Currently, students who are accepted into the Department of English Mathematics of the Faculty of Science take English preparatory classes for a period of 1 year, 24 hours a week in parallel with the Academic Calendar. There is an exemption requirement for compulsory preparatory class students. Students who cannot pass the Preparatory Program in the first year can switch to the Turkish Mathematics department if their University Entrance exam scores are good. Students who cannot switch are given a second right for the Prep class. Students who fail to pass at the end of two years are dismissed. Exemption exam is held at the beginning of the Fall semester every year: Students who register for the first time and who did not pass the Preparatory Class in the previous year can take this exam. Those who are exempted are notified to their Faculty and they continue their department courses. Those who do not qualify for exemption and want to study in the preparatory class take two semesters of courses and take the final exam at the end of the year.

A Preparatory Class is also opened for international students studying at undergraduate or graduate level departments of our university.

For those who choose to attend the optional English Preparatory Class during the registration, a selection exam for the Preparatory Class is held at the beginning of the Fall semester. For the students who are entitled to attend the optional preparatory class, a preparatory class program is applied 24 hours a week. Students who study optional preparatory courses continue their departments at the end of a year, whether they are successful or not. When students who pass the preparatory class graduate, it is stated in their diploma and transcript that they have successfully completed the preparatory class.

Our Language Center, with its infrastructure and experience, has the capacity and competence to apply an English Preparatory Program to different departments of our University, if requested.
