• Compulsory Turkish Preparatory Class Proficiency Exam (Exemption exam)

The Purpose/Objective of the Exam

• To determine the Turkish proficiency levels of international students who enroll in our university.

Target Group

• International students who enrol in our university in 2024-2025 academic year and cannot certify their language proficiency.
• International students who have failed the Turkish Preparatory Program at ÇAKÜ DİLMER.

Exam Date

• September 16^th, 2024 (Monday)

Time of the Exam

• Written Exam: 10:00 AM
• Speaking Exam: 1:30 PM

Duration of the Exam

• Reading-Comprehension, Writing, Listening Exam: 150 minutes
• Speaking Exam: 10 minutes

Exam Format

• Face to face

Exam Content

• The exam consists of a total of 4 sections.
• Reading- Comprehension
• Writing
• Listening
• Speaking

The speaking section is conducted separately, and students are individually taken for the speaking exam.

Levels and Grading Scale

• Each skill (Reading-Comprehension, Writing, Listening, Speaking) will be evaluated separately on a scale of 100 points, and each skill must have a minimum score of 50.
• Those with an average skill score between 60 and 69 will be considered at the B2 level.
• Those with an average skill score of 70 or higher will be considered at the C1 level.
• Undergraduate students must score at least at the B2 level on this exam, while graduate students must score at least at the C1 level to be exempt from the compulsory preparatory class.

Exam Rules

• International students taking the exam must be present in the exam room at least 30 minutes before the exam starts.
• The use of a pencil is mandatory in the exam.
• Entering the exam with a mobile phone and leaving during the exam is prohibited.
• Participation in the exam requires a passport/identification and a student certificate.

Further Information

• Students who are failed in the exam or do not participate in the exam will study Turkish preparatory class at ÇAKÜ DİLMER for one year.
• Students who pass the exam will be able to select their 1^st year courses through ÇAKÜ e-campus (https://ekampus.karatekin.edu.tr) and get them approved by their advisors on between September 30^th and October 1^st, 2024. This will allow them to attend 1^st year courses.
